Celebrating National Careers Week with Y Careers

Driven by the Career Industry Council of Australia, National Careers Week is more than a calendar event. It’s a week about raising awareness of the value of career development, how it shapes personal wellbeing, strengthens communities, and supports the economy at large.
It also plays a perfect reminder of what’s possible when young people are given the tools, guidance, and opportunities they need to shape a life they’re proud of. At Y Careers, that mission is at the heart of everything we do.
Creating Meaningful Pathways for the Future of Education and Care
As a not-for-profit social enterprise, we help young people build meaningful careers in education and care, industries that are not only deeply rewarding but vital to our communities.
Whether it’s a paid traineeship, direct job placement, or Career Coach support, we walk alongside young people as they build confidence, skills, and direction to thrive in the world of work.
We believe in inspiring aspirations and challenging outdated stereotypes around what a successful career looks like, especially for young people who might not see themselves reflected in traditional pathways.
For Employers: Building future-ready teamsWe believe in real-world experience, human support and purpose-driven pathways. We work with organisations across early learning, aged care, disability support and beyond, offering:
- traineeships
- recruitment and
- managed services
These services are designed to help young people get job-ready and stay career-strong all while also supporting employers to build diverse, future-focused teams that make a difference.
Possibl+: Where Potential Meets Action
We’ve also created Possibl+, our Accelerator program for young people working in education and care, powered with HEX.
Possibl+ helps participants grow their digital, personal, and professional skills through mentorship, coaching, and future-focused learning experiences. But it’s more than just a program, it’s a launchpad.
It gives young people a platform to bring their ideas to life, connect with a like-minded community, and gain the tools to shape their futures. It’s about turning curiosity into confidence, and ambition into action.
Spots are limited and filling fast.
If you're an employer, nominate a young person from your team who’s ready to take the next step in their career here.
If you're a young person working in the care sector, you can nominate yourself here.
Innovating for Tomorrow With Getmee
In addition, as part of our ongoing commitment to innovation, Y Careers has partnered with Getmee, a leading AI coaching platform, to build a custom digital experience that prepares young people for work in education and care.
The new Y Careers-branded Getmee app will empower both career seekers and coaches with smart, accessible tools for career readiness, skill development and personal growth. Learn more about the Y Careers and Getmee app here.
This National Careers Week, we’re not just celebrating careers, we’re celebrating courage. We’re celebrating the young people brave enough to ask "what’s next for me?" and the teams who answer back: we’ve got you!
