Traineeships

We employ, you train

Finding skilled workers in education and care is tough. As a Group Training Organisation (GTO), we’re the legal employer of the trainee and place them with you for hands-on experience. We offer traineeships at Certificate III and Diploma levels, managing payroll, compliance and ongoing support so you can focus on delivering quality care.

How does the traineeship work

The traineeship program provides a solution for organisations looking to invest in the development of young people while meeting their operational needs. With a flexible partnership approach, organisations can join at any time during the year with rolling intakes to meet staffing needs.

When you partner with Y Careers, you get a workforce solution suited to your organisation’s goals. Through our partnerships, we provide:

Workforce development support

The need for eager-to-work and skilled employees is growing in the education and care sectors. By investing in workforce development through a GTO like Y Careers, we’re helping you build a skilled, engaged workforce for tomorrow.

End-to-end recruitment

We manage the full recruitment process for your trainees, including advertising, pre-screening, shortlisting, interview coordination and onboarding. Traineeship positions are generally fulfilled within 4-6 weeks, depending on location and role requirements.

Compliance made easy

We manage all employment laws, training requirements, and reporting, so you can focus on running your organisation.

Post-placement support

Our dedicated Career Coaches provide ongoing mentoring and guidance to your trainees throughout their journey. They’re there to support with challenges both inside and outside the workplace, helping trainees stay on track with their study, wellbeing and performance.

Skill development through micro-credentials

Every trainee can access self-paced training to build personal and professional skills that support their long-term career growth.

Train the Trainer

We’ve created a short, 20-minute self-paced module for employer partner supervisors. It’s designed to support your managers in engaging and leading Gen Z employees and trainees in education and care settings.
